Extra tamarind jam and Extra tamarind and Coconut jam
The acidic variety of tamarind we use to prepare our jam and fruit paste comes from a Pak Ngum district producer group near Vientiane. The tamarind is a type of acacia which can reach 30 meters and producers generally grow the tamarind tree near their houses for shadow, or in their vegetable garden for their own consumption. The brown fruit resembles a bean with a brown pulp and seeds found inside. Tamarind is traditionally used in cooking or added to soups for its acidic flavor.
Harvest takes place from January to March.
Our jams are made with 50g of tamarind per 100g of jam.
Available in 275g and 400g.
